The Toy Story logo was created in Adobe Illustrator where the existing logo was first separated with the Expand tool. Which was done with the Rotation Tool, the Scaling Tool, and the Position Tool? The “A Pixar Production Film” was a spin text as it zooms into the screen from the foreground.

This was done with the Opacity tool which was used for all images and text for the fade-out effect. The “Present” logo was a fade in-fade out animation effect. Th was done with the Rotation tool, Scaling tool, and Position tool. Present logo coming in halfway which was just standard zooming from the foreground. The Walt Disney opening has the Walt Disney logo spinning around and zooming into position from the foreground. But the biggest differences between the two is that After Effects is more suited for film and visual effects animating.įor the animation style, I tried to make it feel like one of these animated intro sequences that you usually see in animated film from Disney or Pixar. It’s pretty much like Adobe Flash as their both animation software.
#Pixar intro custom how to
This is the best way I can do stop-motion-like animation for my intro sequence.įor the animation itself, everything in the video was created from “trail and error” as I had to learn the animation myself, but I did look up tutorial videos on Youtube so I would be able to learn how to animate my intro sequence.įor creating the video I used Adobe After Effects (CS6) as my software for video editing. It was pretty simple as the text shown in the storyboard is just going to be moving and scale into the position. So I went to the intro sequence and drew storyboards just using the text to make the video. The opening scene was just going to be still pictures, as trying to fully animate the whole scene would take forever.īut unfortunately, I had to drop the idea as I didn’t have enough time to do the scene and it did stray away from the intro sequences main focus which was the text more than the visuals. The Alternate Opening scene depicts a western scene being played in Andy’s head where he plays the outlaw and Woody play the Sheriff. And since this is animated, it will be easy to just draw images of how the intro sequence would be made.Įarly in development with the Storyboard, I was originally going to use one of the alternate opening scenes from Toy Story early development. Storyboards are important to video making as it was said early, to depict how the story is made. The first thing we had to do was to create a storyboard for our intro sequence. Since animation studios use storyboards to depict how the story in the films goes, I try to use this to help with both my video and storyboard. So I had to watch the intro sequence of Toy Story to get an idea on how to create the video.įor the animation research, I looked up Pixar Storyboards as my source for inspiration. Since Toy Story is an animated film, my into sequence will be animated just like the one in the actual film. Every video has many different takes on stop-motion animation and we had to use the videos ideas for our own intro sequence.

#Pixar intro custom series
I choose Toy Story as to me the film’s intro sequence has a simple and straightforward scene that represents the film theme and story.Īt one point was thinking of Star Wars, but I couldn’t think of a way to do an alternate take as the film intro has the scrolling up yellow text, space/galaxy background and orchestrated score best represents the film series theme and setting.įor research, we had to look up videos with stop-motion animation styles.
#Pixar intro custom tv
The film (or tv show) I choose for my alternate intro sequence was Toy Story. But the intro sequence we create has to be completely different from the existing one presented in any actual film or tv show. In the third assignment for Idea and Digital Media in Art and Design module, we have to create an alternate stop-motion intro sequence to either a film or tv show of our choice.įor the stop-motion intro sequence, we are allowed to choose any film or tv show of our choice.
